JMC - Who are we?

J Motor Components operates a thriving parts distribution business, headquartered in the seaside town of Poole with other sites in the Hampshire, Dorset and Isle of Wight regions

The company opened its doors in 1950 by John Cavill Senior as Friction Linings Ltd. Today, the business trades as J Motor Components (JMC) and offers high quality branded products, along with excellent personal service that you would expect from a family run business.

From the beginning
JMC managing director, John Cavill, explains: "When Dad started the company back in 1950 he had a shop with a large pile of brake shoes in the middle of the floor, and shelves full of brake linings to reline them with. More than 58 years on, we are continually improving stock line availability.

J Motor Components is a more accurate name for a firm now offering bespoke customer training and development on all the technological advances that the motor industry is facing.”

JMC is proud to distribute Original Equipment (OE) pedigree brands such as Bendix, Borg & Beck, Goodyear and Sachs and many others together with the technical expertise to support them.

“It is a continual process ensuring that we have the right products on the shelf to meet our customer’s high expectations” says John.
